Boring week in Hong Kong after Korea. I just did some
administrative work around me having to go to school like get my student
Octopus Card and etc. etc. I think I went out couple times with disappointing
results. It is the same shit every time we go out. Needless to say I’m a little
disappointed with Hong Kong. I don’t know why I can’t get into Hong Kong… I
feel like I had too much expectation for Hong Kong, but it just feels like
Mainland China to me. As bad as that sounds, Shanghai, I feel, is very comparable
to Hong Kong.
So I decide to take a little trip. I went to Singapore
(January 24, 2014). It was nuts! I met up with my friend Stephen from Melbourne
there. I went to Sentosa Island and stayed at the W hotel! Poolside cocktails
and good food was the name of the game! The amount of drinking was unreal. We
had to keep the traditions of how we did in Melbourne alive. Friday night, we
got drinks at the W hotel bar and chit chatted about everything. I arrived
pretty late to the hotel, so we just stayed in. I guess we were just catching
up. After significant amount of drinks, we went to bed!
It’s Saturday (January 25, 2014). We went poolside at the W
hotel and just lounged around pre-drinking for the night to come. We grabbed
dinner at a steakhouse called Skirt in the hotel and crushed some wine! Now
it’s time to partay, we got in a cab, and we headed over to the outskirts of
Chinatown to go to couple gay bars, Tantric and Taboo. We got drinks and danced
all night! The drinks were way too strong. Can I get discounted drinks with
half the spot you are putting in the cocktails please? After I almost threw up,
we continued to dance until the bars closed. I went home and off to bed I went.
It’s Sunday and it’s time to meet family! I met up with
Ophilia and Alfred today. Yonsei reunion in Singapore! What is my life? We met
up at the mall and went to another mall for a great food breakfast food and
they came to Sentosa Island, and we had dessert there just to catch up. They
had to go a little early because they had to get ready for Lunar New Year
holidays. It was nice seeing family and knowing that they were good! From there
out it’s a sort of a blur…
We had a Mexican party! As bad as that sounds… Sorry I’m not
sorry… Although the only Mexican thing about this party was that we drank an
entire bottle of tequila. After that the potato wedges with sour cream was the
next best thing. Although, we made new friends along the way, we met Victor and
Vincent. I went to bed afterwards.
Monday was the tourist day. I went to the Garden’s by the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands. Not much after this crazy weekend, I left Tuesday morning, and back to Hong Kong.
