More Sydney

December 28, 2013, it’s Saturday, and the German girls, the New Zealand guy, and I went to Bondi beach for a lazy Saturday! We just chilled at the beach with a beer and some fresh fruits; it is just what the doctor ordered after a week of walking and traveling! It was really nice to have company and go to the beach. Well for the New Zealand guy, his name is Stanley by the way, and I, we called it early quits on the beach because both of us were moving hostels.
We left the beach and I got my stuff! I left for my second hostel in King’s Cross, which turns out to be a great hostel because it’s right on Oxford Street (Sydney’s gay street). I decided the hostel was too quiet, and I needed some interaction with people.
I walked down to Oxford St to grab couple beers, and I met couple cool people at the Midnight Shift bar and the Stonewall bar. I also got to see couple queens do their shows! I was way too excited. I haven’t seen queens or at least decent ones since I left Atlanta, so this was an extra treat for me. The night was late and I had to go early to the Olympic Pool to get a swim in.
The next morning, I woke up and debated how much I would regret not going to the Olympic Pool… I knew I would regret it a lot, so I sucked up the hangover and left! I took the train to the Olympic Park in Sydney! It was a sad day knowing I had to practice in swim trunks I bought at the street swimwear store at Gold Coast. I purchased a pair of goggles, and off I went into the pool where champions were made!
After a very pathetic hour long swim (too out of shape), I got out and walked around the Olympic Park. When I came back home, met up with couple friends from the hostel for a nice homemade steak dinner! Australian steak is delicious! That night coupe mates and I ventured to Oxford St again for their karaoke night! I mean how many people can say they did karaoke in Australia! So we got a little drunk and with a little liquid courage I was on stage in front of couple drag queens and judgmental eyes and I sang my Frank.

Maybe the night before wasn’t such a good idea because I had to wake up at 6:30am for a day tour of the Blue Mountains. It’s December 30, 2013, and I got picked up at my hostel, and right off the bat, I knew I’d like my tour guide. His name was Cameron, and he was informative and hilarious! I’m glad there was no hiking involved in this tour! Hiking is not natural… I took the bus to the top of the mountain. Yeah don’t think I’m doing some intense hiking just for a view here… It’s not my style. The group was driven from place to place. We went from the lookout to a lunch where I ate delicious fish and chips. From lunch, the group was taken to the scenic view of the Blue Mountains. I rode the cable cars and incline railways; I got to see the infamous Three Sisters, and more. I went back home, and I was so tired from the tour. I knew I had an early morning for New Years Eve., so I turned in for the night!
